Basaltite
Exclusive Italian basalt originated from the hardening of lava in the eruption center of Bolsena-Bagnoregio (Italy)
BASALTITE is definied as a "leucotefrite" with the following characteristics:hard and compact with high values of compression breaking load. The stone has a very low water absorbation with a imbibition coefficient of 0,87% and is to be considered a frost resistant material, ideal for internal as well as external uses.
Basaltite has extremely high technical and physical properties which allow the material to have a natural slip resistance.
The blocks are quarried from banks with the use of diamond wire whit dimensions up to 320x180 / 200 cm.
The production consists of slabs , paving , flooring , treads and risers as well as tiles in 1 cm. Strength (calibrated to 0.8 cm.) with a maximum size of 200/220x60 cm.
Basaltite can be delivered with following surface finishings:
- sawn
- honed
- polished
- filled and honed
- filled and polished
- bushhammered
- brushed
- sandblasted
- waterjet finished (different possibilities)
